Mansa Security Guideline
To protect your account, we recommend that you follow the steps below regularly, especially if you notice changes to your account that you didn’t make.
How You Can Make Your Mansa Account More Secure
1. Use a strong password
Don't write it down, send it via email, or tell someone. Mansa will never email you to ask for your password or other sensitive information.
2. Protect your password
Never enter your password after following a link in an email from an untrusted site. Always go directly to https://www.mansa.app. Also, do not save your password in the browser. If someone gets access to your computer, saved passwords are easily revealed.
3. Never use your password on another website
If you use the same password on another website and the website is compromised, someone could try to sign in to your Mansa account with the same information. Keep your passwords different on any service you use and change your passwords periodically.
4. Remove emails that no longer belong to you
If your email is used by someone else, it can be used to reset your password. Remove emails that you no longer use from your My Account page.
5. Set up your Catchphrase
You Catchphrase is a phrase which you provide on your My Account page, which we will display when you sign in and before you enter your password. When you see your correct catchphrase displayed, the site is likely genuine. If you do not see the Catchphrase, and you have entered your username correctly, do not enter your password as it could be a phising site.
6. Check for viruses and malware
Run a scan on your computer with trusted antivirus software. If the scan detects any suspicious programs or applications, remove them immediately.
7. Perform regular operating system and browser updates
Make sure you've set your computer to update automatically. If you get a notice to update, take care of it right away, as it may include important security fixes.
8. If you use a public computer, take these extra steps:
Always sign out of your account.
Clear forms, passwords, cache, and cookies from the browser on a regular basis.
Note
You should perform these steps more frequently if you begin to notice suspicious behaviour, such as general slowness and pop-up advertisements.
